Grey’s Anatomy Star, Sara Ramirez, Visits Ryan Health Center

ADRLF Board Member and Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez stopped by the William F. Ryan Community Health Center in New York City last week. The Ryan Center was among the first recipients of the foundation’s grants. Ms. Ramirez stopped by to meet the staff and patients and learn more about the Ryan Center’s work with Hepatitis B, C and HIV/AIDS.

The ADRLF Donates $5000 to the Al Hirschfeld Clinic

ADRLF Attends Ryan Health Network Gala

On June 10, 2010, ADRLF board members showed their support for the amazing people at The William F. Ryan Community Health Network by attending the organization’s Spring Gala. The fabulous evening of dinner and dance not only raised money for the charity but also honored Dr. Thelma C. Davidson Adair, Alonzo Mourning and Joel Picket. During the event, board member Crayton Robey read a letter from board member Sara Ramirez focusing on what Ryan means to ADRLF and the community at large.

ADRLF Partners with The Actors Fund for Hepatitis B Screenings

The week of May 17, 2010, ADRLF partnered with The Actors Fund to provide free Hepatitis B screenings for the uninsured. ADRLF coordinated the screenings, which took place at the Actors Funds’ Al Hirschfeld Free Clinic. The week–which coincided with Hepatitis B Awareness Week and World Hepatitis Day–was a great success, with many taking advantage of the service. ADRLF then took an additional step–the organization covered the cost of vaccinations for all those who were negative for the virus!
